5 Core Values

5 core valuesThese values (Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Service and Evangelism )provide us with a constant reminder of why we exist as a church, drawn from a biblical understanding of the Church.

We then seek to practically outwork our core values through our Ministry Team Areas. These teams provide every member of the church the opportunity to use their gifting under God and serve the church and its community in ways that fulfil our vision.

At present our Ministry Team Areas are:
Administration; Catering; Children; Discipleship; Finance; Local Mission and Community; Pastoral; Prayer; Preaching & Teaching; Property; Seniors; Welcoming & Integrating; World Mission & Community; Worship; Youth.

  • We believe everyone is gifted and called to fulfil their part in the Body of Christ, so we everyone is encouraged to find their place.
  • All we are and do, is undergirded by God’s own heart of love, and motivated to reach and touch fellow humanity.
  • Our mission is motivated by God’s love for people. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son ...” (John 3:16).
  • We believe that all people are created and loved by God regardless of gender, marital status, race, ethnic origin, religion, age, sexual orientation or physical and mental capability. Because of this we seek to serve all people in the community without discrimination.
  • Emmanuel Baptist Church recognizes it has a mission to the whole person - caring for the physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs of all people.
  • We aim to provide a safe place where all people are valued, respected and empowered to achieve their full potential.
  • We seek to serve the local community by developing partnerships and networks with other churches, voluntary groups, statutory agencies and local government in order to create an effective, integrated service for the community while avoiding unnecessary duplication of resources.
  • We will happily seek to explain our faith motivation to those who ask, but we will never impose our Christian faith or beliefs on others. We respect people’s freedom to hold their own views.
